Not known for its tolerance of gay men and lesbians (as least not outside of the major cities), the region now has an online community: Pride depository Founded by two lesbians who met online from opposite coasts and relocated to Boise, Ida., Pride station-house showcases a friendlier side of a conservative, largely rural part of the rural parts best known for its potatoes and neo-Nazis. The site has all the important features: message boards, chat (powered at Gay.com), personals, and shopping.
